Creative takes on classic comforting dishes, made with heart.
NOW OPEN FOR WEEKEND TABLE BRUNCH ON SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS, AND FOR DINNER DAILY.
Chef Dominique Ansel’s first full-service restaurant comes with a serendipitous story. The number 189 references our original bakery address in New York (189 Spring Street), which coincidentally was the same street address in LA as well (189 The Grove Drive). “It was meant to be,” says Chef.
Situated on the second floor above our Bakery, the menu is driven by the food we love – casual, honest, and with a bit of surprise. Our food is rooted in traditional French techniques, but the flavors range from different cultures and uses the best California produce we can get our hands on. The restaurant seats up to 150, including indoor and outdoor terrace and bar seating.
Currently, we serve dinner nightly, and a full wine and bar program rounds out the dining experience.
On Saturdays and Sundays, our Weekend Table at 189 by Dominique Ansel turns the tables on what brunch can be, with an interactive communal feast of seasonal dishes served family-style. There are no menus. Instead, each table features cutting boards at the center, and as an array of savory and sweet dishes come out of the kitchen, guests can add items onto their boards for their meals. Each table receives a brunch card that’s stamped with each item ordered, as dishes are passed throughout the room by our servers.
A 12-seat private dining room is also available and can come inclusive with its own private terrace (for a total seating of up to 22 guests) is also available for events and special occasions. For private event inquiries, please contact us at hospitality@dominiqueanselLA.com.
