Chef Dominique brings his creations to the West Coast for the first time with the opening of Dominique Ansel Bakery in Los Angeles in November 2017. Located on the 1st floor of a two-story space at The Grove, just below Dominique’s first-ever restaurant, 189 by Dominique Ansel, upstairs, the bakery offers some of his most celebrated pastries, along with brand new creations made exclusively just for LA.

In November 2017, Chef Dominique launches his first-ever restaurant, 189 by Dominique Ansel, in Los Angeles at The Grove.  The name references our original home in New York (at 189 Spring Street), which coincidentally is also our home address in LA (189 The Grove Drive). It was simply meant to be. The menu features creative twists on classic comforting dishes, while our Weekend Table takes brunch to a whole new level with a communal feast of seasonal family-style dishes.

Soho, New York City

Chef Dominique opened his celebrated flagship shop, Dominique Ansel Bakery, in New York’s Soho neighborhood in November 2011. Centered upon the idea of creativity, the Bakery is the birthplace of many of Dominique’s signature desserts, including the DKA (Dominique’s Kouign Amann), Cookie Shot, Frozen S’mores, and of course, the Cronut®.

West Village, New York City

In April 2015, Dominique launched his second NYC shop, Dominique Ansel Kitchen, which features a menu of more than 70% items that are made, finished or assembled to order. The West Village location is inspired by Dominique’s belief that “time is an ingredient.”

Shortly after opening Dominique Ansel Kitchen in New York in 2015, Dominique launched a revolutionary dining experience: U.P. (short for “Unlimited Possibilities), an exclusive after-hours experience that begins with a table that descends from the ceiling into the center of the bakery’s 2nd floor pastry kitchens, where guests enjoy an all-dessert menu that changes twice a year, complete with drink pairings and plenty of surprises along the way.

Tokyo (Omotesando & Ginza), Japan

Chef Dominique brought his famed pastry shop to Tokyo in June 2015 with the opening of Dominique Ansel Bakery Japan, his first location abroad, located in the Omotesando neighborhood where he sought to create a “next generation bakery” fusing classic French technique with modern New York style. Dominique conceived of his Tokyo outpost as a bakery of the future. In March 2017, Dominique opened his second Tokyo location at Ginza Mitsukoshi, with a new menu focusing on pastries created just for the Ginza location inspired by local Japanese ingredients and traditions.

London

In September 2016, Dominique opened his eponymous bakery in London’s quaint Victoria/Belgravia neighborhood, marking his first shop in Europe. Dominique’s vision for his London bakery was to bring a sense of wit, humor, and old-school charm to pastry, with a menu of new creations inspired by the storied city across the pond.
